hi

picked our new chickens today, 10 in total they are 16 weeks old, we have been advised to keep them in the coop for a couple of days so they get used to their surroundings, just wondering what everyone else does when they have newbies

i put newbies in a separate coop and run within the chook garden, so the can see each other for a few days.

i did that with the two new ones i got this week.

then tonight when i put everyone to bed, i put the newbies on roost in the main coop in the dark. hopefully they will all be friends in the morning.
