Title: Broody Pekin

Hi ,
Have one of our hens sat on some eggs for nearly 2 weeks but she is in the coop still with the other hens and a bit worried about chicks when thy arrive !!!
Do i move her now or wait unitil the chicks have hatched ??

Hello, Jam1972,
I am not terribly experienced but my instinct would be to separate the broody from the other hens before the chicks hatch if you can.  I understand a mother hen will protect her chicks from bullies.  She won't leave her eggs while they are hatching so that is the time when the other hens will be able to get at the chicks that wander off.
I'm sure someone more experienced will be along shortly to advise you.  In the meantime good luck and keep us posted  :)

Thanks for advice think i will move her as its to risky to leave her there TA :nowink:
