Title: Leeks in a litter tray.
Post by: SusieB on February 19, 2014, 20:35
I have my cat litter tray ready to plant.

It seems from reading previous posts it will hold approx.90 leek plants, which is about the total number of leeks I need.

Is it ok to start my early leeks now in the tray, and add the late leek seeds to the same tray at a later date?   Will I have problems when I want to plant them out, or will I be able to plant all the little leeklets out at the same time?

(I have Hanninal and Blue Solaise - the pack says plant Feb onwards
and Ardea and Musselborough - the pack says plant March to May)

I'd start next week (very nearly March by then  :D ) and sow them all at the same time - then they should be ready to plant out at the same time.

Mine are in (2 varieties) and up.

They've been luxuriating in the unheated conservatory.... This year I want bigguns!!
