Hi Last season I made a big mistake with the storage of my bulb Onions.
I cut the tops and roots off straight after harvesting , which did not allow them to dry out correctly.

Consequently the majority rotted from the inside and did not store past the middle of September. I still have them in bags in my garage and would like to add them to my compost Dalek to get some goodness out of them for this season.

Are there any risks to me doing this to any crops that I plant where the compost is ?

A note to myslef and any other novices make sutre I leave the green tops and roots on until they are crisp and brown and all the excess mositure drawn out.

As long as they are not affected with white rot, I don`t see a problem. Go ahead and compost them.

I never compost rotted onions because I believe the fungus spores will survive and infect the next crop.
