I would hold off too.
The ground is just too sodden to do anything much I’m afraid.
I have put a bit of rotted manure on my asparagus bed and waved at my autumn planted garlic but that’s about it till we have a long spell of dry weather. HH

Chatting on the Plot / What's lost app.
« Last post by Goosegirl on Today at 09:07 »
I wish someone would create a What's Lost app as I have frequently mislaid stuff and it can get rather frustrating to say the least. I've now lost quite a big picture called The Dinner Party by Jules Grun. I know it was upstairs out of the way but I could swear I brought it down and put it in one of the rooms. No, it is not hanging on a wall!  :nowink: I have looked all over the place and under beds, cabinets etc, you name it. Maybe Growster could do one as I'd pay him handsomely.

The Hen House / Re: One hen being bullied
« Last post by New shoot on Today at 07:31 »
Worming is part of the care they need, especially if they free-range.  The one being bullied is having a miserable life and is getting beaten up every day.  Sad to say if the bully has been taken by a fox, another hen will be second in line in the hierarchy and could well take over the role.  I am not convinced lack of calcium is the cause of the issue.

It sounds like you maybe need to do a little more research into chicken keeping.  There is a lot of info here on the main site:

https://www.chickens.allotment-garden.org/

And here on this board:

https://chat.allotment-garden.org/index.php?board=13.0

Chickens are living creatures and if you decide to keep them in your garden, looking after them and their basic health needs (like worming) is a responsibility you take on, just like it is for any other animal.

I don't worm them and she is definitely more scratched up instead of being off color... But the problem might be taken care of! A fox got one of our other chickens (sadly) and we think it may have been the bully. The one that was having a hard time is looking a little better. I gave her some eggshells just in case it was the calcium though.

My Kumquats have really come along really well
I was hoping for a few this year, but I went away for a week or so and came back to find this lot on there
Certainly a bit beyond my expectations
Now hat am I going to do with all these ?
