lol, some good ideas! but I heard its not really such a good idea to use slug pellets as they don't do much good to the hedgehogs that eat the slugs (or so I've heard?)...and since I've spotted a hedgehog in my garden I wouldn't like to use them. Although its been a while since I saw him last and he hasn't been in in a while otherwise he'd have eaten the beastie!!!  :)

I think hedgehogs only like the little juicy slugs, not those huge cheey monsters  :tongue2:

Here in NZ, we can purchase a wildlife-friendly slug & snail bait called Quash which I frequently use. It hasn't harmed hedgehogs, cats (we have 3), dogs (we have 1) or birds (we have approx. 300 - 400 wild ones). I have to say that Quash is very effective against slugs & snails and also lasts longer in wet weather.
I read recently that such a product is also available in the UK, although I don't know the name of that one.

There is a slug pellet here which is said to be safe for organic use and less harmful to wildlife.  However, I can never remember the name of it, sorry (fat lot of use that post was  ::)  :D )
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
