We had the same problem, but with badgers, which just hurled themselves at the netting until it collapsed.

The occasional roe deer was spotted, but my chum in the next plot had a fox living in his compost heap for a while...

There was a 'trend' for standing growbags on their sides some years ago, which I thought was a good idea if space was at a premium, on a path say!

I grow toms against the house every year in compost bags. Stood on end with the tops rolled down they make ideal sized containers.

Hello and welcome. Definitely check for either something dead or animal muck amongst the plants. I say this as a local fox dropped a gift near my onions last night and the flies were the giveaway sign.

You also need to be aware to have a waiting period before sowing any seed in the ground - the decomposition releases something that inhibits germination of some seeds.

That's true, but it's also great for purging weed seed in new beds.
