I have been watching mine and thought I knew who was boss but then other things happen.  They always sleep in the same order on the perch, and go into the hut in the same order, coming out can vary as they sometimes barge each other out of the way but more often than not its the same sort of order.  I have three. Two of the chickens are content to wander round on their own, the third starts hollering very loudly if she finds herself on her own and wont shut up til one of the others re-appears. Is there a way to tell from any of this whos boss?

Hello Sam! I don't know if there is a way, but with mine she's always the last to bed and if anyone is a bit slow she puts her head under them and pushes them in to the coop!
I don't find that they worry too much as their different characters make them behave differently and no one defers to her particularly.
