ADVICE WANTED WITH OLD BROODER
« on: April 18, 2008, 09:56 »
I have bought this old paffafin brooder and i would like some information on it if there is anyone who knows anything about it.
I have some pictures to make it easier. I know it needs restoring and the actual heater its self isnt with it and needs some skirting round the base. I would be greatful for any suggestions on how i could restore it and where i could get some bits from or what i could use as an alternative.
I would like to know how old it is? i would of thought 1930s?
Thanks for looking and for any advice Jonathan

The pics are a bit small, but I'll ask Brian if he ever used these ones when he was younger.  He knows a bit about the electric mother hens!!!!

He doesn't like the paraffin ones, says they are dangerous and can blow up!  His friend had one in the bedroom and it caught fire!  Not that I'm suggesting you will keep yours in the bedroom, they can catch light if caught in a draught!

His only suggestion was to sell it!!!! lol.

Any chance you could convert it to electric?

Brian said you may have trouble getting spares too, but we sometimes go to agi auctions, I'll keep my eyes open, just in case!!!!
