Hey, im new here   8)

Introductions aside however i'd just like to say how delighted i am to have finally found a forum about allotments.

I dont actually have an allotment tho ;) I do however keep several of my darlings in the back garden. I need to know if i'm doing anything illegal here.

My babies are just your average chicken, smell like flowers    and never shut up. But i love them :)

Thanks
PH.

Hiya, im the same, no allotment but keep chickens in my back garden, also have 3 raised beds with veg. Someone on here will be able to give you advice. We didnt know if it was illegal to keep chickens but we own our own home and dont keep cockrels so we just took the risk. We adore our girls, started off with 2 and weve got 6 now, they are addictive.

I'm also a garden veggie keeper and new to chicken keeping. :) I am a council tenant and with permission it's fine. :) we are not allowed cockerals though. For obvious reasons! lol

Welcome to the forum! :) hope it's your crash helmet your name refers to

     How rude!

Hey Purple (can't call you by your full name now   ), I keep my lovely ladies in my back garden.  When we got them a few people said that we shouldn't be keeping them and that it was illegal but apparently it's all down to the deeds in your house.  Some houses it's banned in the deeds but ours it isn't.  :D   I'm sure someone else will be along to correct me if I'm wrong.

I guess the only other problem is the noise but like I've said before ours only make a noise when a cat comes into the garden or when the sky is falling
