I've locked you other thread WW  :D

That is a nice little coop and run.   IMO it will hold 3 medium sized hens.  The picture is rather missleading, the size of the chooks are out of proportion.

(get an Omlet Cube   )

Nice coop but I'm with Aunty no more than 3 WW.

It's ok if you can let them out early etc but if they are locked up in there for any time ! there could be bullying etc if there was too many hens. Also like Aunty says those hens look out of proportion.

The lift out bottom would worry me in case mr foxy lifted it out !

For similar money you could buy a small shed and make a run.  :D

I'm with Richy on the shed idea, and with a big enough run you'd get MORE chooks in a small shed, possibly from freecycle??

Very optimistic on chicken numbers and not much head room for the birds in the coop.

Why not have a bash at making your own ? Get all the pictures and glossy catalogues that there are and then pinch the design that you fancy.

On the plus side, this one  certainly doesn't represent the financial investment that certain chicken accomodation does and after all everyone has to start somewhere. It certainly would be a start and once you have some experience you could look for bigger and better or actually adapt this one.

tbh I have a wooden coop with a lift up wooden door/ramp and after a couple of wet days/weeks/months the wood warps  and it gets covered in mud which makes it hard to close and if like mine snaps, hence I have now bought a metal sidling up door and making a new ramp.

I wouldn't go for a coop (as Rich says) with a lift up floor, but get one with a sliding removable floor..

I bought a coop and made the run myself as the ones you can buy are only small and I wasn't keen on having them in such a small space. Plus the run isn't covered at all, I have half my run covered so the food and the girls can be keep dry.

as a permanant home, it doesnt seem big enough to stop boredom.

i use a similar design as my maternity block. but thats just for one broody hen and her babies and only for a short while.

adapting a shed sounds great, my dad made my coop and it turned out pretty good for his first attempt at anything like that.

or be patient and keep looking on ebay, i have seen proper coops go for about the same price that are also bigger.

I wouldn't go for it its expensive, buy a shed and convert it easier to clean out too.

I have bought 2 houses from Ebay and they are falling to bits.  I am a lover of Ebay but I really got caught out with these :?

my coop was from e-bay and it is great except the dodo door/ramp and the perches were way too wide and had square edges..

Not running yours down Sad just saying be careful the photo's often look great but the workman ship and finish leaves a lot to be desired in some cases.  Ours said treated but it hadn't been so we had to fork out again for preservative for them.

oh yeah I know you aren't :)
thats the problem with e-bay you just don't know what they are actually like from the photos.. I was lucky but still wasn't as great as they made out.. had to do a few modifications to make it fox proof as well..
