Title: Mustard
Post by: sasso on November 30, 2006, 15:26
I intend to rotate my various plots this year for my chooks and was wondering what I could sow in them so there'll be greens for the chooks when they populate the plot again, is Mustard a good choice? Obviously something fast growing is needed, I will also throw in some grass seed as welll because I can get hold of plenty of that, any suggestions?

just put spinach beet in and then you can get a feed off it as well and cut for the chooks till you want to let them clean it up afore you dig it in

Karl, do you ave to chop veg up into fine pieces for chickens.  I threw mine some carrot peelings tonight (along with seed mixture) and they didnt seem too keen.  I did chop it up but it seemed a bit big when they were next to it, if you know what I mean.
