how to post a sunflower?
« on: February 24, 2009, 20:52 »
i told my 7yr old daughter about the sunflower growing comp and asked her if she wanted to grow some for her and her little sister. She was VERY excited and we are going to get some seeds at the weekend. Her only worry was
"when it's grown, how do we get the sunflower in an envelope so we can post it to the person that measures them?"  bless  ::)

Tell her she needs an envelope 12" high and about 10-14 feet wide.

And a lot of spit to stick the flap down  :tongue2:

A good sensible question :D
Some people might  :ohmy:CHEAT   and say their sunflower is 12ft high when it is only 6ft. >:( >:(
They could mix up centimeters and inches.

Suggest that you ask the person that started the sunflower growing competition, on the forum somewhere, to send some suitable envelopes, and also enough stamps to cover the postage.

Should the envelopes be padded to minimise damage to the sunflower ??? ???

 Cripes. I'd save Royal Mail single handedly doing that!

Perhaps borrowing a 'honey i shrunk the kids' machine would do the trick :D
