I left a bit of mince out of the chilli yesterday and it's destined for deconstructed cottage pie later with whatever green or orange things I can find in the freezer and spoon standing. I've nearly used enough to defrost the freezer now, but I really need more frozen veggies to use what's left

I got distracted by reduced steak yesterday so we ended up with spicy marinated steak strips, griddled sliced veggies, wraps, yogurt and mint dressing and a shredded cabbage salad.  OH demolished 4 wraps so I guess you could call that a success

Today I have a base of mince, tomato, onion, garlic and herbs in the slow cooker, plus cooked beans from the freezer and some fresh veg to end at the end to turn it into chilli.  The bonus is that once I finish my paperwork at the workshop, I can go and play at the allotment and tea will be waiting when I get back  :)

Tiny new pots, cut in half and boiled along with green beans, into dish with a few v.small tomatoes coated with cheese and grilled, v. nice it was.  Afterward I thought I could have added some chopped black olives, I've got those, and some chopped bacon, but I haven't got that.   ::)

A garlicky bruschetta, (Shirley and Sungold) with basil and a tiny chilli from last year...

Also some grossly expensive Greek olive oil, which is so good, it makes the other stuff pale into insignificance! It's one summer extravagance we look forward to, but Greek oil it has to be - whatever the cost!
