[New shoot]

I'll make some extra emergency freezer mash. 

I like the idea of emergency mash.  There are not many situations that can’t be made better with mash and some spoon standing 

Tonight for us was chicken thighs made into stir-fry and some rice.  I got asparagus, spring onions, tender stem broccoli and some mushrooms from work (unsold reduced stuff) so it made sense of a bit of a mash-mash of stuff.

Another good standby in the freezer we find is homemade croquette potatoes, they’re a faff to make so ideal to make a big batch, they’re also nice with dry packet stuffing mix to replace the breadcrumbs, does that appeal Lard? We tend to use up the last of a sack of spuds like that.

Tonight we’ve got some bought ham that needs using & some roast chicken so chicken & ham pie it is with a topping of bought puff pastry - really must make my own, just for himself though as I’ve given up on pastry. I buy the sheets & cut it to size & freeze it but I could do the same with homemade

Sounds great if you're making them for me  I've failed in the past with them as I don't fry things and doing them in the oven just doesn't give good results, I'll try again as the stuffing crust sounds yummy.

There was a mash related incident yesterday - so I will need to do some more for the freezer  when I make tonight's dinner with the level over mince.

Not the weather for it today,  but the beans spouts need to be used. Mushroom chow mein with a goodly amount of chilli.

Wedding anniversary tonight, so It's a swanky dinner for the good lady!
Stuffed steak pinwheel with spinach, chestnut mushroooms and gruyere cheese, with homemade pasta with a roasted red pepper, tomato and cream sauce.

Gammon, baked potatoes, braised red cabbage and roasted beetroot (both last years plot veg from the freezer) and some greens that were picked today

Beef casserole with a dumpling new pots and peas , Fruit Trifle for pud

Roast beef and gravy ftf, roast potatoes,roast courgettes, peas, broccoli, carrots & hg asparagus

Cajun spiced chicken cooked in a bag, lemon roast potatoes and salad.

Need to use up the fridge gravel today, with either noodles or pasta. Assuming the weather hold,  a light lunch   with potentially the first salad things from the GH and then some spag bol sauce in the slow cooker for later.

We went out for  Chinese last night it was lovely and well organized, needless tonight something light scotch egg and salad

Smoked haddock tonight so I think risotto should be about right, usually I make it & use peas but as I harvested 14 spears of asparagus this morning, I think I’ll use some of that today

Coronation chicken and salad, might add a small jacket spud - I'll see how hungry I am

Nuked a spud added spag bol sauce and cheese. Green leafy from the GH, but I will need a better variety of stuff for it to be called a salad.
