Lardy, I love reading your menu, they sound so like mine !    Tonight I have a scotch egg and tiny boiled potatoes.  Done enough spuds for tomorrow, but what shall I have with them ?   Mrs B

My menu is a product of cooking for one, being too preoccupied with other things and a general CBA attitude to food at the moment. I should hope you eat better than I do, you should eat better than I do !

Something bland and milk based today - probably mac'n'cheese

No Lardy, I don't.   Today I accomplished a wish of many months for fish and chips.  I dont know why because
I loathe fish to the point of feeling ill.    But there you go, I bought Huss and Chips.  On the plate, the smell was revolting, pick at a few bits and some chips, threw the   entire lot away, and walked down to rubbish bin half a mile away, and  in it went.  Thats taught me, I am a silly old fool.  Now eaten a large slice of banana cake and half a scotch egg.    Probably eat a bowl of cheesy nibbles later  ::)   So no, I am terrible, just totally lazy about food.  No point for one person.      Mrs B

I know what you mean about fish and chips - the smell is glorious but I've given up eating them too, but I doubt I could have binned them.  I could repeat some of things Mother Lard has said to me about eating properly but it would be hypocritical  :(

I had a similar conversation with one of Mother Lards carers when asked if I now had time to do "nice" meals for myself like I did for Mother Lard.

I have some diced pork leg - not sure what I bought it for originally but I'm planning on meat and 2 veg with mash, spoon standing and stuffing.

Best laid plans of mice and men and all that. Ended up with scrambled egg on toast  ::) .

I'll try again today as I really should eat something from the green food group.

Finally got around to having time to cook a Sunday lunch yesterday.  Oh well, only 3 days late

Roast lamb (reduced half leg joint from work), roast spuds, braised red cabbage from the freezer and some greens, plus spoon standing  :)
