Title: spud spacing

hi all i have 3 raised beds in my garden all around 8ft by 3ft how many first earlies would i be able to plant and what spacing would be recommended cheers all

2 rows of 8 spuds in each bed but it'll be tight, it may be easier to grow through black polythene rather than earth up.

Probably best to grow the rows short ways on rather than try to get 2 x 8 fy rows in.
i.e. 4 x 3ft rows either 3 or 4 seed potatoes per row.

You could of course do as many farmers do and plant 2 rows 10 inches apart along the 8 ft length and earth them up as one 3 ft wide mound.
