Of my 4 original POL's that I bought in March   only one is still laying. the others have either gone thru or are still moulting. I bought 2 new POL's in August and they have matured really well, a Copper Black Marans and a Welsummer, both have red combs etc  but neither is laying and obviously they are not moulting yet.  Is it going to be next year before thay start laying do you think???

Well... We have nearly 40 hens and only 5 or 6 of the warrens are still laying
As regards the POL our first Welsummers that had hatched in June didn't start laying until the following February, so I would guess it would definately be after Christmas !

if their combs are bright red then you may be lucky and get some very soon

I have a couple that are a similar age, they should start to lay December time. The rest will start laying again in February.
