Title: Cheap Christmas veg
Post by: snowdrops on December 19, 2023, 20:42
Anybody got any yet?
I’ve been to Tesco and got 2kg potatoes and a red cabbage and 2 broccoli for 15p each.
Was hoping for onions too but no luck. Lidl had the same sort of offer.
Sprouts & parsnips were 15p each. Hope the farmers haven’t had to suffer this price cut though.
I’ve got 2 chunks of blue Stilton in the freezer so intend making broccoli & Stilton soup which will go back in the freezer. Just need to look up a recipe now

Seemed to be no limit on what you could have so I must admit I had plenty of potatoes as we shall use them, I normally buy a sack but the prices are high this year, wouldn’t mind so much if I was actually paying the farmer, but they’re usually bought in.
