Title: When to move from the window sill?
Post by: adri123 on March 24, 2014, 15:24
Hi.

I've got several trays of tomatoes and peppers.  One has had to go to the PT anyway as there just wasn't room but I'm wondering if it's getting time to move all of them.  They'll certainly get better light during the day and I've got a heatstore in there that's keeping the frost off.  Lowest it gets down to is around 4 deg C.

Is anyone planning on moving their tender plants from the house yet?

TIA

Adri

Mine will be coming in at night for the next 3 or 4 weeks.

I tried some brought indoors and some left out in the cold g/house in 2012 and those left outside never did well   at well :(

Sounds too cold at night to me too.  10oC min would be better

ideally i would say out at day and in at night, cold nights recently. think i may have got caught out a couple of nights ago with beans, lettuce and brassicas. i will see in due coarse.

this is time consuming, and i usually end up tipping some over in rush when moving them so prob does more harm than good.

I've got some tender stuff under fleece inside a plastic grow house inside a vented polybottle greenhouse lean to!  As long as I remember to open up day time (sweetcorn was enjoying 40degrees lunchtime last week!), night temps seem ok, not gone below 10 in there. yet.
