Hi Darren,
My chucks kept jumping over the fence. Now I have chicken wire and a few lengths of string wire up to about 6 foot high. Im now happy to say that unless my kids forget to shut the gate they havent got out since.

six foot works for me and if you are putting a top on it leaves room for you to stand up in it

I used tree stakes and pinned wire to about 5 foot, then used heavy duty netting to cover to 6 foot.
Was a quick and cheap way - the whole run cost be about £30 and its very sturdy

That looks a good run Lewjam, have you dug the wire down to fox-proof it? I have just ordered my coop and need to build the run

Yea if you look where the turfs are disturbed on the photo, i dug down a good 8 inches with the wire. Then pakced the turfs back onto - was good because it stops things digging in, but the turfs also pulled the wire tight.
As a bonus they are double locked i n the coup as it had a lock and a door.

Is there anything stopping a fox getting over the wood fence? I moved mine as I know they can jump over a 6 + foot fence no problem.

Yea I thought I had posted an older pic. I have strung heavy duty netting over the whole run tied all the way round on the wire.
