Title: Possibility's
Post by: chris mutter on November 09, 2021, 09:48
I grew Peppers and Chillies in my Greenhouse, that were a failure compared to other years, took far to long to get going. So is it possible that I can somehow save these plants, so I get a good start next year. Over Wintering (can I) (how do I), my Scotch Bonnet only managed to grow about 8 inches, poor very poor. Thank You. Chris.

Prune them back and keep warm in the house over winter. They're perennials, so that's what I'm doing.

It's fairly straightforward. When I've overwintered chillies I give them a bit of a trim, keep them somewhere light, above 10 degC and the compost just moist. For your small plant I wouldn't bother trimming and would simply stick it on the kitchen windowsill.

I find that chillies are much more likely to survive than sweet peppers. Come spring the plants will either burst back to life or not - some that look healthy don't and others that look dead do!
