I've found the best time to pick up bargains on joints of meat is around 2.00pm on a Sunday.

Always scan the cabinets to see what they have a lot of, and when it's due to expire, and make sure you're in there.

Also to bear in mind (flip, this sounds so snobby but I don't mean it); certain things sell better in certain parts of town - if you get my drift; so if you want to stock you freezer with more cuisine-esque (I made that up!) fodder, try shopping in those areas, and once again see when the sell by dates are up.

Always look out for reduced products, whether it's dented tins, chilled products, bread, etc., for those which are on BOGOFF, because at most (BUT NOT MORRISONS) stores it will mean you get the product for a quarter of the original price.

Somerfields neither, Co Op used to pay me to take away their stuff but it seems a lot are getting wise to it..........as are the customers.
