I've got the remainder of a couple of packets of seeds...  As the seeds don't keep i'd rather chuck them in the ground and produce something but only if it's worth it.   Will I get anything from sowing them now?   Hopefully the "tropical" temperatures being forecasts over the next week will make them germinate quickly at least!      If it's going to be a dead loss...  i'll chuck in carrots or something else instead!

I think parsnips take 4 months to develop fully which will take you to mid November.  If we have a mild autumn you may well get lucky. To be honest I am thinking of sowing another row myself with left over seed and taking pot luck.

Got nothing to loose especially with the topsy tyrvey weather we are having.

It's really too late by a considerable margin to grow them to any decent size, but if the seeds will otherwise be wasted, and the ground couldn't be better used for something else you might as well have a go (as sarajane suggests we might be having a heatwave in November!  )

(Carrots would be a better bet though!)

In that case i'll sow them but now worry about thinning out too much and have baby parsnips in November / December!     Won't take up too much space then, so i'll still have plenty of space for carrots etc.
