Title: Where to sell Rotorvator?
Post by: Abbadon on August 29, 2010, 16:19
Hi all,

Fixed up the old dears rotorvator for her, with a view to selling it.

But having real trouble finding a buyer...

Where else can I try - Friday ad and free ads not yielded a result, and I dont think ebay is right for a working example - they are just too big to attract people from out of the area...

Its a merry tiller, 1950's as far as i know - 3hp briggs engine which runs sweet (well it does now at least!)

Also a guide to price would be helpful - there is a picture in another of my threads if you dig around.

cheers

Andy

We don't allow any selling on the forums but you could put an ad. in our Classified section.

There's no charge for private sales.

Your mothers Merry Tiller is quite a bit later than 1950s, circa 1968 at the earliest, 1976 at the latest, probably 1970s if the white engine is the original one. The paintwork isn’t great but the rotors are not badly worn and it appears to be complete including outer rotors, transport wheels and the vital, but often missing, rear skid. I would go for eBay but not for a couple of weeks, prices start to rise as some gardeners turn the soil over in Autumn. If you can turn some ground over to get shiny rotors, this helps a sale, as does a lick of paint (original colours please). In Spring you would get £100 to £150 but just now it could make as little as £80.
