Thought I'd introduce you to my posse! They are all miniature poodles and I am passionate about them. i have 11 at the moment  ;)
Poodles were originally bred as gundogs and I have been beating with some of them on occasion.

Wow...  You have to love dogs to have that many in your home

What about the little brown dog on the left.  Bet s/he feels a bit... "different"

The little one on the left is called Remidy and was from my last litter I bred. He is now very happy in an agility home and will start competing (hopefully) next year once he reaches 18 months. As for my food bill it is about £15 a week, I don't smoke or drink so I spend it on my dogs!! They all get a full Christmas Dinner on Christmas  Day!

Lovely brood! We had 2 poodles as I was growing up, both toy poodles. I'm a German Shepherd person myself but I only have 1 and a 'bit' at the moment. The 'bit' is only 4 days old! When I said I was getting another GSD, my brother said 'I wish I was as rich as you to afford to buy 2 dogs within a year' but my response was the same as yours, I don't drink, smoke or go on holidays so my vice is dogs!  ::)
2 German Shepherds, Kira & Bruin, 4 hybrid chicks Chryssie, Violet, Sweet Pea and Astra.

Getting petrol I noticed that a pack of cigarettes are about £7 now, that's about £50 a week if you smoke a pack a day .  Even with dog grooming and insurance it's still a cheap hobby.  Plus your breath smells good and you save money on gym membership.

The thing about dogs is the ones that are well loved will also be excellent guard dogs, barking to make you aware of any 'visitors' or trespassers, and making wannabe thieves think twice about your place. Very few thieves want to tangle with dogs of any sort. To me, that is an excellent investment.

We used to have a turkey who alerted us to anyone walking past the house she would make a dreadful noise, she was a good guard turkey!

We had a standard poodle when I was little, Topsy, she had to be put to sleep, except we thought she had gone to a farm in the country!

Thanks for all the lovely replies! In response to the grooming question; I'm a trained groomer so I do them all myself!
