[Thrift]

Bessie joined us one year ago today.  

She is a really lovely pet - very affectionate and surprisingly, a very brave and determined guard dog! She loves her walks and as you can see, also loves toasting in front of the fire! Another treat is a trip in the car which she is always eager for.

Tiger, the cat, is a good friend although he's not too sure about the greeting of enthusiastic licks around the ears.   Her other great pal is Ben, the collie, who spends half his time with us. They encourage each other in exuberant wrestling matches.

Her only fault is her appetite. Unfortunately, if I let her out unaccompanied she will set off on a food trail around her old haunts.

She looks so well Thrift with her shiny coat.  Love Tigers bushy tail, it really brings back fond memories for me of Bagpuss.  As long as she is not piling on the weight she should be ok and I am sure catching a meal will involve enough exercise to counteract the extra calories.

Thanks everyone, we're just back from our splosh around the fields. Luckily Bessie loves water so succumbs to the hose and then gets a good towelling before planting herself in front of the fire again. 

No recent news of the two pups Pamela, but they are very much loved and happy members of their families. I do wonder about the other seven and hope they too are in good homes. We so often smile about our little gang of nine - they gave so much fun and pleasure!

Thank you for the update Thrift - it is lovely to know that Bessie is doing so well. I think that we all remember her story as being both worrying and uplifting.
