Post by: Little Miss Muffet on July 09, 2007, 21:28
We have a sweet pepper plant in the green house which we noticed today has been eaten a great deal by flies so to stop this we have wiped eact leave with a damp cloths and made sure that all the lies which we couldd see has gone.untill its recoverary we have put it in are bedroom window  which is south facing.
its been very muggy here the last two days and the gnats and flies are really buzzing is it just these who are eating my plant or is it something else?

Sounds as if you have thrips, is your potting medium high in organic matter/ peat they love it, but their larvae live in the soil so I don't think they will be eating  the leaves.

I don't think thrips is their proper name it's just what I know them as
