If you want to be happy for a long time - fall in love.

Hahaha, I see painting them was an after thought??

I did exactly the same

So what are you planning on putting in them this week Jamie?

Just emailed the guy that I bought the topsoil off, he sold me it a ton for £50, so i asked him if i could have half a ton to finish off the raised beds. Half a ton is £42, I dont have a clue hoe managed to work that out. Itd be almost cheaper to just buy a ton, but not got enough room to put it all

A large proportion of that will be a delivery charge, thats normally a flat fee regardless of how much of a thing you buy.

I have just cut up the timber for my raised beds, have gone for 8foot x 4 foot beds (was going to be 12foot long but would struggle to get this to the allotment), now I need to work out what size to cut the suports/pegs, I have 2x2inch pressure treated timber, will need about 6 inches above ground as that is depth of the beds, how much should I allow for underground?
I will obviously need one for each corner, how many would I need spread along the edges would one be ok halfway down the long side or should I have more...also has anyone put support on th outer side of the riased beds to prevent bulging or is that just over the top?
thanks

I think for just one plank high a central support would be enough.  Mine are two planks high and I think I will need some more support at a later date.  (When I get the time) ::)  I would also dig them in at least six inches, maybe a little more if you have enough wood and energy.  It's not entirely necessary to have anything dug in, but can't do any harm.

Mine are also 8x4. :)
Cheese makes everything better.
