Title: Yellow patches / 'crispy' leaves on Cucumber plants

Hi all,

I recently moved my cucumber seedlings into larger pots and out into the greenhouse.  They are doing well in the sense that they are climbing the cane and have plenty of new growth appearing, but some of the lower leaves of the plants have turned a little yellow and feel very 'crispy' to the touch.  They have been well watered since they were seedlings, although I was careful not to over water them this time (you might remember that I killed the last lot!).  Could it be too hot / too cold in the greenhouse or is it more likely to be disease related?  Is there any way I can limit the damage?

I'll nip out and get a photograph later.

Not yet John - I was going to wait until they were a bit bigger.  Does it sound like a nutrient deficiency?

I did take a photo last night but I dropped the OH's camera in the garden and I think I might have killed it off :(

I always suspect feeding when plants get yellow leaves.  Quite often things do just get better by themselves though.

If they're big plants, they just tend to lose a few leaves in their process of growth, especially as it sounds like it's its oldest leaves down at the bottom. It might just be that those lower leaves are getting shaded out since you mentioned growing them up canes. It's not something I'd worry about unless there looks like there's a problem with the growing tip of the plant(s).
