Does anyone know if box is likely to thrive against a north facing wall.

Well it is very hardy and doesn't mind a bit of shade, so I think it will.

Only thing I know that kills it (apart from obvious neglect) is dog pee

We do not have a dog any more, but there are dozens of cats in the area who come visiting.  The smokers at work go outside near the box hedge, it is east facing, just where they stand the box is dead!
I think I will risk moving mine next to the north facing garage wall. Thanks.

It can cope with some shade, but won't like to be too dry, which it sometimes is next to walls?  So just make sure it's not bone dry, or leaves will very suddenly go yellow and crispy.

Only problem they really have is box blight.

It is quite wet in that area so that is good. Thanks
