Green mould on pepper seedlings
« on: April 26, 2009, 08:30 »
Some of my pepper seedlings have a green mould-like substance on the surface of the compost, any ideas what it is, is it harmful, and what I might need to do about it?

Thanks in advance  :)

Could it be algae - compost too wet?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

could be, I've tried not to water them too much after I read on here that they preffered to be on the dry side.  I might try scraping the top bit of the compost off.

if they are in a greenhouse you should be leaving the door open in the day to let some fresh air in.
feed the soil not the plants
