How many are growing these :) things. And what do you know about them :?:
-
I'm growing a few in the polytunnel, I just bung 'em in with the tomatoes & let 'em get on with it. This year I'm trying "Thai Long" & some from a packet that just says "mixed"
-
ive got a few on the go 1st time and they are so slow, they have germinated with 2 leaves that was a few weeks ago .i think they are dormant :?
-
like andy I have put them in the g/house with the toms, peppers and cucumbers. Same as last year. They love loads of water & feed. Mine are about 6" tall and now they are in the ground they seem to be growing faster.
-
think i will pot them on this week then, there still in there tray

So how many fruit do you get off one plant then, I grew them last year for the first time and got 1 from 2 plants
-
I'm growing aubergines for the first time this year. The variety is Mohican which are supposed to produce an abundance of small white fruits (although I have no idea how small is small). I have two plants in small tubs in the greenhouse which are about 10 in high at the moment and nice and bushy looking. But it's all a bit of an experiment.

the ones i'm growing are T&M black enorma and it says restrict the plant to 5 fruits per plant if you want large fruits,
got some seeds left if you want a bash

You got one more than I did from 4 plants richy! I think though that planting outside in east yorks is probably not the best environment for them! I am going to clean and repair the grotty greenhouse I inherited with the house soon and then next year try some in there.

I grew 5 black beauty aubergine last year and now im adicted! this one is a really heavy cropper! this year I'm growing apple green, rosa blanca, long purple, black beauty (of course!) striped from Gandia and I white one I cant remember the name of.........

I grew 4 plants last year 2 black beauty and 2 money maker and had more aubergines than I knew what to do with. This year I`m growing black beauty and calliope.I started them in feb.with the peppers and grow them at the back of the greenhouse away from any cold air from the door.
-
I grew about 9 plants for the first time last year and got loads about 6-10 off each plant, but none of my seeds have done anything this year after 2 tries at sowing
-
I had problems last year so only 4 plants,2 bought as seedlings from a garden centre ,reluctantly but a good investment in the end.I`ve done well with peppers and aubergines this year but have had a lot of other germination failures this year.
-
Isn't nature strange??????
-
I got heated propogaters to sort the cold weather probs of last year out and I also moved all seed storage to a nice cool place(after years of forgetting and leaving them in the greenhouse cooking nicley)and am rewarded with good germination from abused seeds and crumby germination from mainly new seeds.Dug up sweetpeas today from roottrainers after only 6 grew and all but 3 others had gone mouldy or disappeared.

I'm growing Bonica F1 - sowed in an unheated GH in Feb, and potted on from the tray this week - they're only a couple of inches high, with a few holes in the leaves :?
They'll go in the ground in the GH when they're a bit bigger (ie when I've dug out a border for them!). The blurb says to restrict to 5-6 fruits per plant.
