Tried but failed.
« on: September 29, 2009, 23:19 »
Well,I tried to grow a 10 pounder and failed.......again !!!
Never again !!!
Just too time consuming. :tongue2:
9lb 1oz final weight. :(
I'm sticking to to good old Kelsaes at 3-4 lb for the shows from now on. :)

 :D :D :D

Next year I'm maybe going to try for a 5lb+ Red Onion just for a laugh.

It certainly is a whopper if you're looking for competition results - great. A personal achievement too.

I'm quite happy with a heavy crop of medium sized onions for the kitchen... just enought to cook with each time.

I'm not jealous - honnestly  ;)

The winner for the heaviest onion at our local show was 8lbs 3ozs so not quite the failure it might have been.

I was only thinking just the other day I hadn't seen your name on here for a bit - now I know why. Lovely picture - the onion looks nearly as good as you!   8)
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.
