Which beans ?
« on: January 04, 2022, 22:06 »
I have been growing Scarlett Emperor runners and Blue lake climbing French for the last few years and fancy a change this season .
I’m very happy with the harvest and flavour of the above , just interested if there are others to rival.
What’s your favourites ?  :)

I like Moonlight Runners and usually find space for them, and tend to choose a range of different colours and shapes for French Beans, BUT have to include green Helda beans, my absolute favourite!

Kentucky Wonder (pole bean) is a good variety to substitute in for Blue Lake. There is a rust-resistant Kentucky Wonder. Great flavor, the bean pods are broader and longer than Blue Lake.

we grew Polestar two seasons ago then changed to Lady Di last year although they turned out ok both varieties where heavy croppers and both varieties  stringless but we are going with a R/B variety Armstrong again a stringless varieties Cobra will be our variety for our climbing French been
