Hen had a lucky escape
« on: November 05, 2010, 07:12 »
One of our White Leghorn hens was looking very poorly, she wasn't eating and was standing in a corner all fluffed up with her head tucked under her wing. She had been like this for 2-3 days.  We thought she was a gonner......... now she is running about and happy :D Infact we don't even know which hen it was as she lookes so much better :D
We were going to ask the neighbour to cull her for us

I think sometimes they just feel a bit under the weather, like the rest of us can. Glad to hear she recovered. :)

That good . Maybe the constant rain had depressed her (like the rest of us).

I think sometimes they eat something that gives them a bit of a tummy ache - like a bit fat mouse  ;)

No rain for us Jinty, we live near Seville Spain.  IT had been very windy for a few days, the hens don't seem to like wind :(

So glad she escaped with her life Pamela. She must have looked poorly though for you to have even considered having her culled. Perhaps it was a lizard that she ate. Yukkkkk!
