Yes it's me again teetering on the brink of bad taste.  Sorry about your nerves Aunt Sally.  But, today in Tesco's I saw a bag of 100 plastic balls for £3.87.  I was, at the time, looking for tennis balls to put on the end of my canes to stop the bird netting poking through.  So I bought them and cut little crosses in them, blew into them to re-inflate as they crumpled a little and stuck them on top of my canes.  They look really funky and do the job a treat.
Cheese makes everything better.

They're slightly smaller than a tennis ball.  They're meant for babies really.

Are they the shiny plastic balls that you see inside large play nets for kids?

I have been using playballs all last year to keep nets up on canes and the added advantage is for some reason birds stay off the plants!  They seem to scare them better than cd discs!
I mentioned it ages ago on the site . and as an added advantage the garden looks so jolly too

Yes Aunt Sally and if you cut through tesco childrens hula hoops they make a sparkly alternative to blue water hosepipe when strenghtened with some canes.  (Does that make sense?)

You're welcome Jingerpot.  They are not as sturdy but when you lash them together with long canes they are fine, about £1.65 each.  Easily strong enough to throw netting over and it satisfies the inner Barbie with it's pink sparkliness.

Great minds think alike eh

Just me careful when your inner Barbie meets your inner Ken.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.
