I'd say yes, I think you can do that, just put them somewhere cool & sheltered afterwards to recover.

Quite often Lobelia is a clump of small plants that you can easily separate and replant.
Don't try to divide it, if it really is only a single plant.

My Lobelia have been saved !!!  A very kind friend, went to a farm shop near her, and has just dropped me in
12 trailing and 12 bush ones.         That is indeed a very kind friend, especially as she lives a few miles away.
