Hi, I read your blog last night. I'm interested in the size of your garden and if the ducks are noisy, what breed of ducks etc. I'm thinking of getting two pet ducks for my smallish urban garden. :-) Maybe you could answer me in your next blog?

Is Jade a Patrick baby? She looks like Lizzy's Sarah (or is it Em thats just picked up 2 patrick babies?)

Jade is from a local breeder and Blue Swedish :)
My garden is not very big, but I am lucky as there is a field behind so less neighbours to worry about. My ducks are not too noisy. Their main quacking time is at breakfast and mid-afternoon. They do get more excited and vocal when I go into the garden than the chickens, especially my two drakes who clamber at the fence to get to me and aren't happy until I have gone in and picked them up then they calm down again ::) My neighbours love them and I have had no complaints on noise. Before I got any poultry I told all my neighbours the plans and they were supportive. I think a quick word with next door before you get them saves a lot of problems later on. I also give out eggs to them each week as a mini bribe ;)
