Over wintering chickens at home - any advise?
« on: April 14, 2012, 19:36 »
Getting an allotment in September and hope to keep chickens on it.  BUT I am hoping to overwinter them at home as going to the allotment twice a day in severe winter weather just to see to the chickens seem daft when I could have them in the garden.  Does anyone here see any problems with moving them for a few months and then moving them back?

it depends if you have the room and don't mind you garden being trashed. Moving them can also put them off lay for a short while but if they are coming into a moult that wouldn't matter anyway.
Staffies are softer than you think.
