Happily kneading away thinking....this currant loaf mix has a very strange consistency

Then I saw the bread flour still on the shelf...........I've used self raising

So who knows what will happen

I've left it to raise and it hasn't exploded yet..so we'll see

Well, it didn't rise as much as a loaf, but it is crusty on the outside like one.
When cut it is more cake-like in texture........ at least it will still go down nicely with a cup of tea and wasn't a waste of ingredients

Sounds like the time I quickly whipped up some chocolate icing when company showed up unexpectedly. Had everything whizzing about in the food processor but noticed the texture wasn't coming together well. Tasted it and nearly spewed

Instead of using icing sugar, I'd somehow grabbed the jar of baking soda. Yuck, yuck, and double yuck.

eugh..that sounds worse than my mistake....at least mine was edible (for a while)
I ate some more toasted this morning for breakfast, but the rest is now binned.

I will be trying to get it right later

but I do seem to suffer from the hand picking up something different from what the brain has asked for.......I do it all the time in supermarkets, and think who put that in there? when I get to the paydesk
