Ryobi vs Flymo
« on: July 03, 2009, 22:20 »
 ??? Im looking to buy either a Ryobi Expand-it, or a Flymo XLT3000 multi-tool.

Which do you think are better?  Or is there something better out there?

I hope to eventually get Brushcutter / Hedge Trimmer / Tiller attachments

Thanks  :D

Ryobi are nothing but trouble.
Id say get on ebay and get a cheap used version of each tool.

See my previous posts about my Ryobi Expand-it rubbish. Total waste of money.

All these tools are a compromise so use them with a little thought. Do not over load them or expect them to work as hard as a large tractor. If the engine revs are slowing ease up on the work demand. I am sure they will do the jobs they say, but may be a little slower tham expected.

Im used to working with sthil equipment through work and my dad got us a ryobi expand it,  It works well for the allotment it takes time to warm the engine but when it running it goes well.  I would reccomend one for the cost of it.
Thanks
Kris

i have a mcculloch multi tool strimmer package, which is the same fit and attachments, so be aware i was usung the cultivator when it started to wobble like a sausage in a bucket, which even i thought was a bit odd. any way on inspection the weld on the clamp part of the drive pole had parted.the price for a replacement was about 70 pound because it only came with the upper drive pole.any way i took it to work and had it re- welded.so watch out.

Hi FG,

You should look up 'Hutti imports' on ebay, they do a 4-in-1 petrol strimmer, hedgecutter, brushcutter and chainsaw tool for about £189 + £10 p&p.

do you know of anyone that's bought one????
