Title: Surprise presents spoilt!
Post by: Kleftiwallah on November 24, 2020, 14:47
Good afternoon everyone,  I've just been on the computer ordering a present for the memsahib,  lo and behold minutes later there's an email telling me they have received the order for ????????  No doupt there will be more telling me that they have packed, dispatched and will receive the present.

Do I have to monitor emails constantly to remove any reference to her present to keep it a surprise, or can this be done technically?

Cheers.   Tony.

Have separate email accounts & separate logins if you share a computer so she can’t see what your up to & visa Versa or get someone else to order it or put someone else’s email address maybe?

Can you 'filter' the messages from the shop, and pop the in an inobtrusive file, which could have a very boring title like 'Electricity' or something?

You can do this in Gmail, but you'd need to check from your own email supplier!

You go to great lengths to hide your purchase ... then you're bombarded with adverts for exactly the same thing you've already ordered

It is possible to browse within an incognito tab, which I think prevents this happening afterwards

I quite agree!

I think a separate email is still needed to avoid being bombarded with information you don't mean to share.
