Willow limping Sadly now missed
« on: October 24, 2011, 19:27 »
We noticed Willow( Bluebell)  limping so we looked on the Forum Bubblefoot l thought nice round Black Spot took her to Vet Painkiller plus Baytril we bandaged the foot every 3 days no sign of the pus spot but kept Dressing until Sat when her leg had swollen to Twice the size  she although laying down still enjoyed her food !! , Vets Sunday she Kept her until Today when they could examine her with a Vet who Knew Birds , bad news she has a bad inflation which has quickly gone to her Cellulight( wrong spelling ) but not good .
We thought it better after advice to let her go which we feel to be a let down we have only had our family for 9 weeks and Willow was our Tame Daughter  how  cruel  life is but it was a palesure to have her for a short time she has brightnen our lives my wife happily talking endlessle of her antics during the Day by by our Willow

Oh sorry to hear about Willow. :(

You did everything you could by taking her to the vet and getting professional advice.  Having her put to sleep was really the only thing left as you had obviously tried everything else.

The term is "cellulitis" when an infection starts in the skin but then becomes a major infection of the connective tissue.  It can happen in humans too:

So sorry to hear of your very sad loss. If only someone could invent a vaccine for Bumblefoot. Its such a nasty illness.
Big hugs to you and your family from France.
Mary.
