You are right about the Daily Mail.  I have taken it for years, but am now wondering why I am reading this comic - oh, yes, to do the crossword !  I'll have a look at the telegraph again, or what about the Independent ? Mrs Bouquet

Mrs B - the i newspaper which is the hard copy version of the Independent has a lot of decent crosswords and puzzles, a good variety of news, opinions, summaries from elsewhere and costs less that the Daily Wail.

Interesting - because I am just considering getting my D Mail on line.  I currently pay Monday thru Saturday, £7.20, which includes delivery for 1 week.

There is a cheaper way to get toilet paper.

There is one good thing about the Daily Mail, and that is the puzzles section. I enjoy the Karuko puzzle and a few others that are not found elsewhere.

I thoroughly enjoy the mail and occasionally when I've had to choose another as they have sold out in the village I've been really disappointed. It has so many interesting contributors. Tom Uttley is so readable as is Richard Littlejohn.I find myself nodding agreement and despairing at the topics that are aired pleased I'm not alone in thinking how I do. It can take easily over an hour of my time to read it all. When I have a quick 5 mins at work i glance at the mirror or gruadian. The absorbancy is marvellous in the toilet area.

Something that I have come across recently, is Press Reader, which you can find a link to on your local library website. I am not sure all local authority libraries offer this service, but basically if they do, you get to read all the daily papers with the exact cost of a library card membership.
The Times and Telegraph are paywall sites if you go direct, but, go through your library website et voila!
Enter your library card number and enjoy.
Even better... You can also read a large number of magazines this way for the same cost!

As for the sites with a proliferation of ads and videos, use Firefox Browser and Adblocker for Firefox and you will find a much more pleasant viewing experience. I am always shocked when I use a pc without these at how bad things can be.
