My garlic has what I can only descibe as chive like stems coming up through the centre of the leaves. the weather here in NI has been pretty cold with some sunshine, temp has not been above 10c much.
Any ideas or should I just ignore it?

Is it just one per plant?

It could be the start of the scapes and nothing to worry about.

I think its a bit early for scapes TBH, mine usually start with them in late May / June / July time. It always varies a bit!

Could it just be the new leaves forming that you haven't noticed before?

Its on a lot of the plants, I've done about 100 this year as it was so good last year.

I'll keep an eye on it and get pan ready if it is scapes lol
