Well along with 50+ years of playing football!

So had the call from the GP, osteoarthritis is in me knees  :(
Had a flare up about 4 weeks ago, pain killers not touched it so went to the gp, had xray's and confirmed it.
Booked in on Monday with the physio

Punk isn't dead...it's underground where it belongs. If it comes to the surface it's no longer punk...it's Green Day!

Bad luck, I'll wait with interest, to see how you get on, but Physios did nothing for me....
I suppose it's not so easy for men, but I found that shoes that weren't completely flat, work best for me, so perhaps give up the bovver-boy boots

So sorry to hear that Aidy. Fingers crossed for a helpful physio session and for a longer term prognosis :)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I've had it for many years though fortunately I've only needed one hip replacement, and the rest varies with maybe the weather or what I've been doing actively. It is literally a pain to live with and I can't turn my neck that far round so glad I don't drive now. I do indoor and outdoor jobs as much as I can until my back kicks in then I take a rest or stop. Don't push yourself too much though.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Oh, I so agree AS! I will be 76 in June and someone yesterday told me I don't act like it. My reply was I jolly well hope not! I presume they meant I behave like a forty-year old rather than a centerian!!   :tongue2:

I;ve had one knee replaced due to this and the other one is due shortly.  Because we had to  postpone it due to Paul's  problem with heart failure which now, fortunately, is under control, it may be that I have to have the hips done as well.

So had a chat with the physio yesterday, we had a good chat after she tried her best to break it, we have opted for a 8 week excersise program and then review, poss injections if not helping but not ready for knife as yet.
And don't worry Aunty, no knife or scissors will get anywhere near ět  ;)

Ex rugger bug*er here Aidy, and i find Turmeric & Glucosamine tablets help, also walking wearing good trainers seem to keep things better and finally Glucosamine Gel can help.

Good shoes are very important. Go to an old-fashioned shoe shop like I have in Lancaster and they should have some decent and lasting ones, plus they should be able to give you some advice too. They don't always cost mega-bucks either. Ask them if they do any in pink!  :tongue2:

I have been wearing Doc Martins for decades, seem to recall I was 10 when I got my first pair back in the 70s, I have both boots and shoes, several pairs don't wear owt else, apart from trainers.
