I can't believe what I have growing.  Only this week, I said that after three years, my carrots still hadn't made an appearance .  So I don't bother growing them now.  Anyway, I went up to the lottie this evening to water everything, and in my raised bed that I have my carnivourous plants in there they are growing .  I wouldn't mind so much, but I dug the old soil in the raised bed out in the winter, lined it with plastic sheeting, and then filled it with peat moss from the garden centre.  And I've got them growing - a miracle

Excellent!
Last year carrots were what I like to call my "nemesis vegetable". After carefully preparing a bed for them and sowing some seeds, only 3 germinated and they got dug up by cats (mine probably!).
This year however, I have a whole 10m row of carrots, a half barrel AND a wooden planter my husband made. I'm very chuffed - nothing can compare to the tufts of bright green above the ground, except perhaps the first furtle of the season!
