The supply of eggs was up to 4 or 5 a day (5 hens) we decided to close off half the garden so the hens can eat the weeds under the orange trees and what do I get in return? 1 egg a day! Seems they are too busy to go and lay an egg now :cry:  I have had a good look about and no sign of an egg anywhere in the garden.  I guess they will go back to laying soon.

If their nutrition level has suddenly dropped they will go off lay.

Good news... they are back laying.  Guess they are over the excitement of being given the free range of the garden.  We have 5 hens laying and are getting 4 eggs a day (most days) 2 lay in the nesting box and two under a geranium plant. Even gave away eggs this week
