Great news about Monty.

The perception here is that French vets wouldn't treat a chicken so well done for finding one that will and at a reasonable cost :)
Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted!!

As you know (Ive bored you often enough with it), Monty's foot is not getting any better. I bathed it again this afternoon and got rid of loads of nasty stuff. Trouble is, Mont doesnt want to walk on his poorly foot, so he keeps falling over.
Ive bitten the bullet and made an appointment for him with the vet, but I know in my heart that it will be a one way trip for my little man.
Please think of me at 2.15 tomorrow, as I know Ill need all the strength I can get to make the most difficult of decisions.
If the vet says try something else, then of course Ill give anything a go, but I dont want the boy to suffer anymore.
I feel so sad, Im welling up just writing this, heaven knows how Ill be tomorrow.
Dont ask me to get support from my OH, he's even more devastated than me. I have to be the strong one here!!

Thanks everyone.

Mary.

Vets? Don't get me started...

Still, it's making me think more than twice about a nice little property I've seen to rent near Carcassonne with lots of land for the chooks and, hopefully, alpacas to roam about on. Not to mention all the other benefits of living in such a lovely area    :D

Hi everyone. Monty seems to be responding well to the Baytril, infact after his bath this afternoon, I placed him on a big towel for him to dry himself on, and he started standing up. He hasnt been able to stand successfully for a few days. He did it a few times. He seems brighter in himself too, even OH noticed it. He took his medicine well too for mummy.
What a good boy he is!!

Thanks SO very much again for all your much appreciated support.

Maryx
